APEXhaseliminatedthetendencyofclassA/Boutputstages toward thermal runaway and thus has vastly increased amplifier reliability. This feature, not found in most other Power OpAmps,waspioneeredbyAPEXin1981usingthermistors whichassureanegativetemperaturecoefficientinthequiescentcurrent.Thereliabilitybenefitsofthisaddedcircuitryfar outweightheslightincreaseincomponentcount.
